Tim Frazer-Talan has been working in the veterinary field for over 35 years and a licensed technician for 30 years. Tim has worked at the Animal Medical Center in the city where he worked the overnight shift, took care of critically ill patients, and helped trained the new interns during emergency rotations. He is presently working at The Cat Doctor, Mineola Animal Hospital and working with the oncologist at Long Island Veterinary Specialists administering chemotherapy. Tim has a special rapport with cats and enjoys working with all animals. He has many pets of his own including some exotics including 2 turtles that he has for over 35 years. He also does grooming especially pets with medical conditions. Tim has taken over the position of manager at TCD this year. 

 

Dr.MariellePenyyDr. Marielle Penyy

Dr. Penyy graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Following graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgical internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists in 2011. Dr. Penyy joined Garden City Park Animal Hospital in 2012 after working at a veterinary general practice in Copiague. She will be heading up our newest location, The Cat Doctor.

Dr. Penyy is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, and attends yearly continuing education conferences. She is an accredited veterinarian by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and is able to assist clients with international travel documentation for their cat.

Prior to veterinary school, she was a licensed veterinary technician working in an emergency specialty hospital in Riverhead for five years. She spent many years in South America and is fluent in Spanish. Her professional interests include internal, emergency, and feline medicine. Dr. Penyy thoroughly enjoys her patients and clients, and her goal is to provide compassionate care and offer quality medicine for every patient.

garyDr. Gary Dattner

Dr. Gary Dattner graduated from Cornell University in 1989. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medicine Association, Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Dattner has completed continuing education courses and regularly attends the North American Veterinary Conference. He has a special interest in Bio Stem Cell Therapy and Orthopedics.

digraziaDr. Mara DiGrazia

Dr. Mara DiGrazia graduated from Cornell University in 1996. She completed a small animal medicine and surgical internship at Oradell AnimalHospital in 1997. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Association, and Long Island Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. DiGrazia has special interests in veterinary ultrasound and small animal ophthalmology. She was recently credited for supplying all Nassau County Fire Departments with animal oxygen masks through HELP Animals, Inc.

kolinsDr. David Alan Kolins

graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Reptile Amphibian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians, Association of Wildlife Veterinarians, New York State Veterinary Association and the Long Island Medical Association. He has a special interest in Exotic Animals, and Chemotherapy.


cristina     Cristina Santos- Customer Service

Cristina Santos is new to the veterinary field but absolutely loves all kinds of animals. Wolves are her favorite. Cristina is the receptionist at The Cat Doctor and enjoys interacting with clients and their adorable cats.

 Sean Walcott graduated from York College in Queens with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and is certified as an animal care specialist. He worked at the AMC and then he joined Garden City Park Animal Hospital in 2002 as kennel assistant. Over the years he advanced to a technician position. One of Sean’s many skills is his passive restraint and expert handling of pets. Sean is now the Head Technician at The Cat Doctor. He is dedicated to providing high quality and compassionate veterinary care.
